Monitoring stacker bogie wheels
A stacker is a crucial piece of equipment in a mine or port facility, responsible for efficiently stacking bulk materials, for storage and subsequent transport. A stacker moves along rail tracks laid parallel to the stockpile area. The sets of wheels or bogies that run on these rails can experience bearing failures due to the environment and substantial weight and constant movement of the stacker.
Condition monitoring solutions from SPM Instrument, with its unique HD Technologies, are successfully deployed on balance machines. A most recent project includes the installation of Intellinova INSEN32s to monitor the many bogie wheel bearings on several stackers in the Pilbara region, WA.
